Carolyn Duran, Director of Geriatric Care
Carolyn Duran's education, combined with her experience in geriatric care and financial fiduciary work makes her the ideal candidate to lead our Family Elder Care team as director of geriatric care. Carolyn is a licensed guardian with a bachelor's degree in business administration and accounting. Before joining Family Elder Care, she worked as a partner in geriatric care and financial fiduciary work for Midflorida Guardians.
As director, Carolyn assists the elderly with physical and/or mental impairments. She works with her clients and their families to ensure coordinating their long-term plan is appropriately executed per the client's request.
Prior to working as a licensed guardian, Carolyn worked as a clinical medical assistant in pediatrics and family medicine for six years. "I liked helping families grow and helping them to be better parents," she explains. She then worked two more years as a surgical assistant and supervisor of surgical/medical assistants specializing in the treatment and removal of skin cancer. "Working with the elderly who needed help beyond my limited medical service sparked my interest in geriatric care management." Her passion for helping the elderly extends to rendering her time as business development and grant manager for a local charity for the underserved disabled and elderly.
Growing up in Michigan, Carolyn moved to Florida to be near family - She and her husband and their two-year-old son now call Central Florida home.
